Why?
Published on September 18, 2005 By Britmann In Blogging
When I first posted my initial article, criticising Tony Blair, the title was edited from its current state ‘Tony Blair “Relished” Sending Troops into Battle’ to simply ‘Tony Blair’. I was not aware that articles here were checked by Downing Street before going online. I have now posted it again in its original form, but it was edited when first posted.

With all due respect, I think it's a glitch on your computer somehow. It has been visible to me in its unedited form.

I don't know what's up, but I've seen the whole title since you posted it.

I should have mentioned I reposted it. It was originally edited.

When rechannelling I found forum links to still lead to dead or active dated versions of articles unless I made them private , deleted all comments, selected commenting disabled, then rechanneled with reabling what I liked plus sometimes loggin out of wc and ju and waiting for up to a week till all links lead to new version. JU overrides wc updating unless first release was on stardock or wc forum, and before making public again on ju, try loggin out and waiting longer. Just saw when I enter this from wc under activities of mine, it then only displays my comment, no. 3, but not the first 2 by Gideon and you, which might also depend on my login and out constellations

There's a bug in the Joe User software that causes edited articles that contain quotes to drop part of the title after editing the article. I've seen it happen to my articles in the past.

It's not something that the admins are doing on purpose. If they do, they have far too much time on their hands.

It's an equal opportunity bug, and doesn't just hit liberals or conservatives. Just re-edit the title and you'll be fine.

I'd be sure you "know" exactly what happened before flinging accusations. You're ego is showing to think that your posts are monitored so closely. By anyone.

Cheers,

Yeah, what TerpFan said. Don't use double quotes (") in titles. After editing, they get cropped. It's a software bug.

I learned that the hard way, too.

lol, scary how stardock is just a puppet for Tony Blair's government.

Actually, you can have the double quotes, but you have to go back in and edit them in. This happens not after you edit, but when you the original article is loaded into the edit window for you to work with. It isn't that the parsing chops it out after you edit, somehow the quotes don't end up in your edit window, and people rarely notice what is up on that line.

If you edit and don't bother to check the title, you won't realize the part in quotes has been chopped and upload the edited version YOURSELF. Every time I edit an article with quotes in the title I have to make sure I retype the title, and then it goes in fine.

Give it a try, you'll find the quoted parts don't end up in the editor to begin with. Sorry to douse your flames of conspiracy, Britman. A shame your post wasn't about Microsoft or the Illuminati. You could have REALLY gotten the conspiracy theorists started...

Or perhaps I expected this website to be not so riddled with bugs.

I'll bet you're the sort to complain about free ice cream too.

Not complaining, but any company that lets one of its products get so bug ridden it becomes sometimes unusable has to ask questions about itself.

"JU is not a 'product.'"

Just because it is not tangible does not mean it is not a product, it has to be packaged (blogs) and promoted (google, ads etc).

JU is treated as a brand, it is a product.

Hey, "Britmann", how about sticking to one persona, OK?

SICK!

It seems to question the holy and sacrosanct Joeuser is equal to sacrilege!

I can see that my score has been modified to a minus figure, which is a clearly an indictment that I am not welcome. I will not post here again.

Here's hoping that is true for your SICK alter-ego, as well.
